In 2017, The Patricia Grand hotel sought to rebrand their on-site restaurant and bar. The new menu was to feature classic low country style dishes with a focus on fresh seafood. The goal was to develop a brand to fit the new menu while simultaneously showcasing one of the restaurants most prominent assets: the view from the second floor oceanfront dining room.
The brand is a homage to the rich agricultural history of the Grand Strand area. Indigo both represents a local cash crop and evokes thoughts of blue ocean waters at dusk. Coastal Kitchen communicates to the customer the down-home rustic atmosphere and cuisine you can expect. The logo was inspired by old horticultural drawings and antique wood block prints.
In 2020, I spent additional time with the Indigo Coastal Kitchen brand to add more depth to their identity. I developed a brand stylescape, billboard mock-up, and other graphics to provide additional inspiration to the brand.
Using the brand stylescape, I created a website mock-up for Indigo Coastal Kitchen. The concept, wireframe, design layout, and a fully responsive homepage demo were built in less than 24 hours. A link to the live homepage demo can be found below.
